Cockapoos are prone to separation anxiety and don't like to be left alone for several hours.

The Cockapoo is a combination of the playful Cocker Spaniel and the intelligent Poodle. The Cockapoo makes for an enthusiastic playmate who will enjoy learning fun tricks.

The Cocker Spaniel is often bred to either the Toy or Miniature variety of Poodle. It is very unlikely that a Cockapoo will have a Standard Poodle parent.

Are Cockapoos a good family dog? Yes, Cockapoos are great for families. They love people and kids and are smart and kind.

Are Cockapoos high maintenance? Cocker Spaniels and Poodles require regular grooming, which means the Cockapoo does too.

Do Cockapoos bark a lot? While the Cocker Spaniel is a moderate barker, the Poodle is known for being a barker. With a Cockapoo it could go either way.

Do Cockapoos shed a lot? While the Poodle is considered a minimal shedding breed, the Cocker Spaniel does shed. With the Cockapoo you will most likely expect low to minimal shedding.

The adorable Cockapoo is a well-established designer breed and has been around since the 1960s and have an estimated life expectancy of 12-15 years. As a cross of the Cocker Spaniel and the Poodle, they are often healthier compared to their purebred parentage but can still be susceptible to the same health conditions as the breeds they derive from. While most Cockapoos will never be diagnosed with these health conditions it is important to monitor your dog for any physical or behavioral changes.
