Doberman Pinscher

Are Doberman Pinschers good family dogs? Dobermans are loyal and affectionate and can be sweet and good with children if trained early.

Are Dobermans aggressive? Dobermans are not aggressive but they were bred to be guard dogs and are loyal and protective of their familes. They can be wary of strangers so should be socialized early and should be well-trained.

The Doberman Pinscher is a large, muscular, agile breed that weighs 60 – 100 pounds and has a life expectancy of 10 – 12 years.  While the Doberman Pinscher is generally healthy, they do have some specific disease conditions they can be affected with.  Always contact your veterinarian as soon as you notice any physical or behavioral changes.
